Job summary

Mitsubishi Power Americas is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support field verification and commercial documentation for power generation projects. You will validate BOQs, track variances, and ensure alignment between bid estimates and installed quantities across EPC scopes.

You will work with EPC contractors and site teams, preparing concise verification packages and supporting backcharge calculations. This role requires field presence and strong documentation skills to maintain project controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or related field.
• Experience in quantity surveying, construction quantity verification, project controls or EPC project execution.
• Ability to review and validate BOQs, quantity takeoffs, drawings, vendor data, and IFC docs.
• Experience with power generation, heavy industrial, or EPC projects.
• Familiarity with power plant installation scopes (gas/steam turbines, HRSGs, piping, structural steel).
• Strong documentation skills for quantity reconciliation, change management and cost impacts.
• Proficiency in Excel and standard reporting tools.
• Attention to detail and collaborative communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform field verification of BOQs by comparing installed conditions to project estimates and cost baselines.
• Validate quantities for equipment and EPC work ensuring alignment with requirements.
• Prepare quantity verification packages with reports, variance analyses, and supporting records.
• Support change documentation, identify variances and impacts with evidence.
• Coordinate with EPC contractors and site teams to obtain measurements and records.
• Develop documentation supporting quantity impacts, backcharges, and change management.
• Maintain quantity tracking logs and project registers with status of discrepancies.
