Job summary

The Middlesex Corporation is seeking a Quality Control Technician to perform field quality control testing, inspections, and reporting to ensure materials and workmanship meet project specifications and company standards. You will work under the QC Manager, conducting testing, maintaining accurate records, and supporting quality compliance throughout all construction phases.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical training in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience considered.
• 3–5 years of quality control testing experience in heavy civil, highway, bridge or related construction.
• Experience performing field and laboratory testing using ASTM, AASHTO and project specs.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs and test procedures.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• NETTCP certifications preferred or ability to obtain.
• Heavy civil construction experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Middlesex safety policies and promote a culture of safety.
• Perform field testing of construction materials per specs and standards.
• Collect, prepare, and test samples such as asphalt, concrete, aggregates, soils.
• Conduct field inspections to verify materials and workmanship meet requirements.
• Document and report test results, inspections, and daily QC activities.
• Maintain testing records and quality documentation.
• Maintain, calibrate, and care for QC testing equipment.
• Assist QC Manager with documentation, inspections, and project records.
• Coordinate testing with project personnel and third-party agencies.
• Identify quality concerns and communicate findings promptly.
• Document corrective actions and verify completed work.
• Support owner inspections, audits, and quality reviews.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
