Job summary

Beitzel Corporation is seeking a QA/QC Technician II – Civil to join our Field Services team. The role focuses on field inspections, guidance to crews, and ensuring work meets project specs and standards on civil, earthwork, and utility projects. Extended travel and varied hours are required.

You’ll verify hold points, test oversight, and maintain thorough field documentation to support project quality. This is a hands-on field position with significant field time and collaboration with PMs and

Qualifications

• 5+ years in construction QA/QC with at least 2 years in earthwork or site inspection.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain company driver status.
• Experience with mass grading, excavation, and utility/site work.
• Ability to read grading plans, erosion control plans, and geotechnical reports.
• MDE Green Card or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• OSHA Competent Person training for excavation/trenching or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Verify hold points for civil scopes before work is backfilled.
• Perform routine field inspections of grading, excavation, fill, and related work.
• Document inspections with field reports and photographs and submit them into the quality system.
• Confirm required testing is performed and track results against acceptance criteria.
• Verify erosion and sediment control measures are installed per the approved plan and permits.
• Verify lines, grades, and elevations against drawings and support as‑built and closeout documentation.
