Job summary

Empire Southwest is seeking a technician to troubleshoot, repair, recondition, and service Caterpillar and allied machinery in a shop environment. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and power train issues using electronic tools and schematics, and clearly communicate equipment status to clients and management.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver's license, and at least 6 months of related experience, with emphasis on safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience: At least six months in a similar role and environment.
• English proficiency: speak, read, write and comprehend English.
• Safety oriented in work environment.
• Ability to complete eTRAIN skills assessment.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent client service skills.
• Own and maintain required personal tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
• Prepare service reports.
• Plan and control cost of repair jobs.
• Maintain company equipment in good, clean condition.
• Work safely and follow all safety policies.
