Job summary

Empire Southwest is seeking a skilled Caterpillar technician to troubleshoot, repair, recondition, and service Caterpillar and allied machines, systems, and power train components in a shop environment. You will diagnose malfunctions in electrical, hydraulic, and power train systems and identify root causes using electronic tools, schematics, and troubleshooting methods.

You must communicate clearly with clients, associates and management about equipment conditions, trials, and recommendations;

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months related experience.
• Ability to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
• Must be able to operate and understand diagnostic equipment including computerized instrumentation.
• Knowledge of CAT machine components and systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and failures.
• Repair, recondition, and maintain equipment and components.
• Prepare service reports.
• Plan and control cost of repair jobs.
• Maintain company equipment in good, clean, orderly condition.
• Work safely and adhere to safety policies.
