Job summary

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Bureau of Immunization seeks a Public Health Epidemiologist to advance the VFC program across NYC. The role conducts site visits, analyzes immunization data, and coordinates with CIR and vaccine management teams to improve field activities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in epidemiology or public health with epidemiology coursework.
• Bachelor's degree plus two years of data collection and interpretation experience.
• Experience in vaccine programs and immunization data preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct VFC program compliance site visits among providers in NYC to review vaccine storage and documentation.
• Conduct VFC IQIP site visits and review immunization delivery practices and CIR data with quality improvement focus.
• Serve as liaison between providers and the Vaccines for Children Program Unit.
• Prepare necessary materials for site visits.
• Document all field activity data in internal and external tools.
• Analyze status and progress of site visits.
• Coordinate actions with Vaccine Management and CIR teams.
• Attend required internal and external meetings and trainings.
• Participate in agency-wide emergency preparedness activities.
• Support the Bureau of Immunization with non-routine tasks as needed.
