Job summary

Utilities One Group is seeking an on-site Operations Leader in Galesburg, IL to supervise field crews across telecom, power, water, and data center projects. You will coordinate daily plans, verify permits and locates, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

You will liaise with management and clients, review schedules, and drive timely completion of production goals while maintaining strong regulatory and safety compliance on site.

Qualifications

• Valid, unrestricted driver's license.
• Ability to read maps, drawings, and diagrams for fiber construction.
• Strong coordination and communication with field crews and management.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills in field environments.

Responsibilities

• Review projects for scope, constructability, and sequencing.
• Conduct pre-construction walkouts with vendors and internal teams.
• Verify locate ticket status and ensure valid locates before excavation.
• Issue 48-hour notices and coordinate specialty services as needed.
• Ensure permits, traffic control, and jurisdictional approvals are secured before work begins.
• Identify field conflicts early and coordinate resolution with engineering/management.
• Meet daily with foremen/vendors to review plans and sequencing.
• Monitor production entries and ensure accurate reporting in GPM.
• Ensure crews have documentation, are properly equipped, and follow specs.
• Verify crew assignments by work type and enforce work-hour restrictions.
• Coordinate daily MOT needs and communicate requirements to management.
• Perform QA/QC and ensure restoration and timely completion of units.
• Escalate critical concerns to OPM or Director when necessary.
• Represent the company as on-site operational leader.
