Job description

Clean Harbors, located in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Field Project Manager to join our team. The Field Project Manager is primarily responsible for the financial management of projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and change management, with a hands-on, field-focused approach. This group specializes in soil remediation projects; experience with remediation or soil science projects is a plus.

This position requires travel to project sites across the country, approximately 85-90% of the time. When not on-site, the role is remote from your home location.

Location : Phoenix, AZ or surrounding areas

Key Responsibilities :

  1. Ensure health and safety compliance by following all safe work practices, policies, and procedures, and acting safely at all times;
  2. Serve as a Project Manager for Clean Harbors Environmental Construction group on environmental, civil construction, and demolition projects;
  3. Prepare proposals, including cost estimates, work scopes, and schedules;
  4. Develop relationships with key customers, understanding their concerns and priorities;
  5. Provide engineering and technical support to field service offices;
  6. Support procurement activities for projects, including materials, equipment rental, temporary labor, and subcontractors;
  7. Assist with project cost estimates, proposal preparation, and subcontractor selection;
  8. Enforce health and safety policies, working closely with the Director of Health and Safety to resolve issues;
  9. Perform other duties as assigned by management to support business needs.

Qualifications :

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in engineering, geology, hydrogeology, environmental sciences, or related fields preferred;
  2. 5+ years of project management experience in environmental remediation preferred;
  3. Experience with cost estimating and project change orders;
  4. Ability to review technical specifications and drawings;
  5. Successful financial management of projects exceeding $5M;
  6. Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills;
  7. Strong background in environmental remediation;
  8. Proficiency in Windows-based software, including Word and Excel;
  9. Ability to multitask and work independently or in a team;
  10. Knowledge of federal and state remedial site regulations;
  11. Willingness to travel as needed across the U.S.
