Job summary

Clean Harbors, Inc. is seeking a Field Project Manager to lead technically complex projects at our Norwell, MA headquarters. You will oversee waste site cleanup, construction, decontamination, and demolition with emphasis on safety and compliance.

The role includes proposal development, cost estimation, scheduling, and vendor coordination. You will build client relationships, manage budgets, and guide teams to deliver on time while maintaining quality and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in industrial engineering or construction settings.
  • Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree required with PE/FE a plus.
  • AutoCAD experience and strong proposal skills are advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize Health and Safety across projects and teams.
  • Manage small to midsize projects including cleanup and demolition.
  • Prepare proposals, cost estimates, scopes, and schedules.
  • Develop client relationships and understand their issues.
  • Guide subordinates to meet remedial budget expectations.
  • Lead credit and collections related to projects.
  • Provide engineering support to field service offices.
  • Support procurement and subcontractor selection, and report progress.
  • Ensure adherence to safety policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Document site data and characterize contamination and hydrology.

Clean Harbors is seeking Field Project Manager to be responsible for managing small to midsize, technically complex projects involving waste site cleanup and construction, building and equipment decontamination, and demolition.

Position is based at our company headquarters in Norwell, MA.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prioritize Health and Safety by following all safe work practices and policies.
  • Manages and oversees small to midsize, technically complex projects involving waste site clean up and construction, building and equipment decontamination and demolition.
  • Prepare proposals, including cost estimates and work scopes and schedules.
  • Acts as an agent of business and is involved with developing relationships with key customers and understanding the customer's issues.
  • Provide guidance to subordinates in order to meet Remedial budget expectations.
  • Takes lead on all credit and collections issues as it relates to work generated within the managed business units.
  • Provides engineering and technical support to field service offices.
  • Ability to provide timely, concise and relevant information to superiors and subordinates.
  • Provides technical support for proposal preparation, project cost estimates and subcontractor selection and procurement.
  • Enforce the policies and procedures as it relates to Health & Safety. Will be measured off the districts health and safety record. Works closely with the Director of Health and Safety and VP of Site Services in resolving issues in an appropriate and timely manner.
  • Documents all aspects of the response action and compiles site data required to characterize the nature and extent of contamination, the hydrology and geological stratigraphy of the disposal site, and the environmental receptors that may be affected.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience in the industrial engineering or construction industry
  • Education
    • Civil or Mechanical Engineering Degree
    • Design and AutoCAD experience a plus
    • Professional Engineering (PE) or Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Registration is a plus
  • Project Types:
    • Projects less than $10MM
    • Projects may include owner furnished equipment and in-house labor
  • Skills
    • Industrial Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection work
    • Prefabricated and stick built structures
