America’s Floor Source is seeking a Field Project Manager in Columbus, OH to lead day-to-day field operations for flooring installations. Qualifications

About this position
Position Summary

The Field Manager leads day-to-day field operations for AFS, ensuring that every flooring installation is completed safely, to a high standard of quality, on budget, and with professionalism. This role is responsible for overseeing installers, driving accountability to AFS standards, and maintaining clear communication across the organization so that projects run smoothly from job-readiness through completion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Deliver High-Quality Installations

Ensure every project meets AFS quality standards the first time, minimizing callbacks, punch work, and warranty claims.

  • Maintain a first-time installation quality rate of 98% or higher
  • Keep callbacks and warranty claims at or below 2% of completed projects
  • Complete quality inspections on all assigned projects

2. Drive Successful Field Execution

Ensure installations are executed successfully by confirming projects are job-ready, holding installers accountable to AFS standards, and resolving field issues before they affect the customer, schedule, or profitability.

  • Verify 100% of projects as installation-ready prior to crew arrival
  • Document and address 100% of significant installer performance issues
  • Resolve 95% or more of field issues within AFS service standards
  • Keep preventable field-related delays below the company target

3. Protect Job Profitability

Manage field operations to protect project margins by controlling labor costs, minimizing rework, and preventing avoidable field expenses.

  • Keep labor costs within ±2% of budget
  • Keep field rework costs below the company target
  • Minimize and document preventable field-related costs

4. Ensure Safe, Clean, and Compliant Job Sites

Maintain AFS standards for safety, cleanliness, professionalism, and compliance on every active job site through consistent oversight, inspections, and accountability.

  • Ensure 100% of active projects receive required field inspections
  • Maintain zero preventable safety violations or OSHA recordable incidents under field supervision
  • Maintain 100% compliance with AFS job site safety, cleanliness, and inspection standards

5. Ensure Clear and Effective Communication

Communicate all pertinent project information clearly, accurately, and promptly to the appropriate people through the proper chain of command, enabling informed decisions, timely issue resolution, and successful project execution.

  • Maintain 100% adherence to AFS communication and escalation protocols
  • Communicate project changes, schedule impacts, safety concerns, quality issues, material discrepancies, and customer requests to the appropriate stakeholders before they affect project execution
  • Escalate critical field issues through the proper chain of command before they impact schedule, cost, quality, or customer satisfaction
  • Submit complete and accurate field reports, inspection results, and project documentation within required timeframes

  • Problem Solving & Decision Making - Identifies issues early, determines root causes, and implements practical solutions that protect schedule, quality, safety, and profitability
  • Coaching & Performance Management - Provides constructive feedback, develops installer performance, and addresses deficiencies promptly and professionally
  • Customer Focus - Builds trust with customers, general contractors, installers, and internal teams through urgency, professionalism, and a solution-oriented approach
