Job summary

Nicholson Construction is seeking a Civil Engineering/Field Quality Coordinator to provide technical, quality control and administrative support on our jobsites. This role supports Superintendents, Project Engineers and Project Managers by ensuring safety rules, conducting tests, and maintaining records.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, 1–3 years of field experience, and proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook. Travel is required per project needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related degree.
• 1–3 years of construction experience (equipment/techniques) such as drawings, surveying, materials, design or geotechnical work.
• Proficient with MS Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Nicholson and OSHA safety regulations are followed and enforced.
• Perform field quality control tests.
• Prepare and manage quality control and production records.
• Order materials, write purchase orders, and track inventory.
• Lead small work crews for technical tasks like water testing and load testing.
• Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and errors.
• Perform field surveys and resolve geometry issues.
• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work.
• Assist in preparation of change order documentation and claim analysis.
• Ensure all installation follows Nicholson Quality Control Manual.
