Job summary

Baker Concrete Construction, Inc. in Tampa, FL is seeking a Project Engineer to support field activities and assist the Project Manager with project administration across multiple small projects or a medium-to-large project.

You will help manage cost, schedule, and quality, coordinate procurements, and ensure regulatory compliance. The role focuses on preparing budgets, tracking costs, producing monthly financial reports, and contributing to the project turnover process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of construction experience or 6 years of construction-related experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical procedures, and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Generates and obtains approvals of monthly billing and earned values.
• Develops and manages the project schedule on small or mid-sized projects.
• Analyzes targets and goals, job cost summaries, and other reports.
• Alerts the Superintendent and Project Manager of project impact relating to resource management, crew make-up/size, etc.
• Generates and obtains approval of the initial budget and subsequent updates, and reviews weekly job cost summaries and advises the Project Manager.
• Generates estimates of change orders and may interface with pre-construction on original bids.
• Coordinates with the Superintendent, Field Project Engineer, and Line and Grade to generate required as-built records.
• Leads LEAN/SQP committee and identifies improvement opportunities.
