Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will manage field engineering activities, including inspections, construction, commissioning, FAT at vendor workshops, developing ITPs, contractor walkthroughs, bid reviews, and selection. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams to complete activities in line with project goals, priorities, contracts, and specifications. Success metrics include safety, cost control, schedule adherence, and quality assurance.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Serving as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  2. Overseeing safety compliance including site orientation, permits, safety analyses, toolbox meetings, audits, and HSES events.
  3. Inspecting received materials and equipment, managing non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  4. Managing project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and compliance.
  5. Managing external/internal suppliers to meet project scope and goals.
  6. Expediting suppliers to meet delivery timelines.
  7. Maintaining communication logs with external partners.
  8. Developing and managing construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays.
  9. Responding to RFIs promptly, ideally within 48 hours.
  10. Following and updating the project execution plan.
  11. Managing internal and external communication as per the communication plan.
  12. Supporting contract administration and dispute resolution.
  13. Tracking and approving change orders and updates.
  14. Closing action items promptly and reviewing progress regularly.
  15. Maintaining comprehensive project knowledge to fill in for the Project Manager if needed.
  16. Influencing construction and commissioning strategies during project development.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • At least 5 years of field construction or related experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects (a plus)
  • Industrial gas experience (a plus)
