Job summary

ASC Process Systems, Inc. is seeking a Field Engineering Project Manager to lead equipment modernization efforts and field installations with the Field Engineering Manager.

You will oversee customer communications, scheduling, shop build completions, shipments, and installation planning. The role requires a 4-year engineering or construction degree, up to 3 years' PM/field install experience, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Entry-level to 3 years of relevant experience in project management, construction, or field installations.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment, manage heavy workloads, and work independently.
• Willingness to quickly gain knowledge of machinery, equipment, and tools used in field-erected autoclaves.
• Ability to travel and work in field locations up to 10% of the time, depending on project size and complexity.
• Occasional weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities

• Own equipment modernization and field installation assignments per Field Engineering Manager.
• Act as primary Project Manager for equipment modernization projects, handling customer communication, scheduling, shop builds, shipments, and installation planning.
• Ensure customer site safety and readiness for ASC equipment installation.
• Monitor project financials, seek cost savings, keep projects within budget.
• Coordinate local contractors for installation and project needs.
• Conduct site visits early to assess risk, plan logistics, and collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers on installation planning.
• Assess site layouts for field builds and provide preliminary sketches for material placement.
• Provide expert troubleshooting in the field and implement solutions with the field team.
• Monitor changes in project scope and document change orders.
• Plan and write lift plans for safe equipment handling and placement.

Job description

• Take on small to medium equipment modernization and field installation assignments as directed by the Field Engineering Manager and execute the Field Engineering Process (FEP).
• Act as the primary Project Manager for equipment modernization projects, overseeing all aspects of project management, including customer communication, scheduling, build completions in the shop, shipments, and installation planning.
• Ensure that the customer site is safe and fully prepared for the start of ASC equipment installation.
• Monitor the financial health of projects, actively seeking ways to save on costs and ensuring the project stays within budget.
• Coordinate local contractors when necessary to support installation and project needs.
• Conduct site visits early in the project to assess risk, plan logistics, and collaborate with Mechanical and Electrical Engineers on installation planning.
• Assess site layouts for field builds and provide preliminary sketches for the placement of materials, trailers, equipment, and vessels.
• Provide expert troubleshooting for any issues arising in the field, recommending solutions, and working with the field team to implement them.
• Monitor changes in project scope during installations and document change orders when required.
• Proactively plan and write lift plans to ensure safe handling and placement of equipment.
