Job summary

M2X Energy is seeking a Process Operator to operate, monitor, and maintain its biogas to methanol production systems at East St. Louis, MO and Effingham, IL.

You will serve as the primary contact for the facility, liaising with external stakeholders and supporting engineering development, SAT, and field commissioning of modular plants. The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical and electrical skills, familiarity with instrumentation and data acquisition, and the ability to work in a

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical diploma in mechanical/electrical/industrial tech.
• 2+ years operating or maintaining industrial/test equipment.
• Ability to use hand/power tools and diagnostic instruments.
• Basic electrical troubleshooting and familiarity with sensors/control systems.
• Familiarity with HMI system operations and safety procedures.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data analysis.
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs and working in outdoor/industrial environments.

Responsibilities

• Maximize equipment uptime through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
• Provide clear daily reports on operating status and issues.
• Operate industrial systems; manage methanol storage and transfer to offtake partners.
• Interpret operating procedures and provide feedback.
• Collect, log, and verify data and performance.
• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs.
• Assist engineers with SAT and commissioning.
• Maintain records of test results and maintenance logs.
• Support installation/removal of field test equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors for specialized equipment support.
• Manage inventory of tools and spare parts.
