The Department of Corrections, Division of Pretrial, Probation and Parole, is hiring an Adult Probation Officer 1/2B for the Nome Probation Office in Nome, Alaska. This role focuses on supervising adult felony offenders, conducting risk assessments, and coordinating treatment referrals to support community safety.

Officers perform field contacts, office meetings, and occasional offender transports while documenting information and ensuring compliance with court conditions.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in any field.
• Four years of paraprofessional experience in probation, parole, pretrial, criminal justice, juvenile justice, social services, corrections, criminal investigation, public safety or law enforcement.
• Combination: 4 years postsecondary education + paraprofessional experience with 2.67 semester hours per month of education equaling one month of experience.

Responsabilidades

• Supervise and manage caseloads of adult felony offenders on probation and parole.
• Conduct office meetings, interviews, risk/need assessments, urinalysis tests, and referrals for treatment.
• Perform field contacts, violation arrests, and offender transports as needed.
• Ensure documentation of historical and current information and verify offender compliance with court or parole conditions.
