Job summary

Altorfer Inc. seeks an entry-level technician to perform maintenance, diagnosis and repair on electric power generation and industrial equipment at customer sites. You will work with electrical switchgear and control systems, inspecting options and communicating with dispatch.

The role requires basic mechanical repair experience, ability to read schematics and strong communication. Some afterhours work and travel to job sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical repair experience preferred.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems.
• Must be a self-starter with good time management and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of Electric Power Generation equipment, engines, switchgear and controls preferred but not required.
• Computer literacy including Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work with customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide maintenance, diagnosis, and repairs to electric power generation and industrial equipment.
• Paralleling switchgear and electrical controls as part of service tasks.
• Inspect and recommend service repair options to customers.
• Communicate between customer and field dispatch.
• Other duties as assigned and possible transition to data center maintenance role.
