Job summary

Interstate Power Systems is seeking Field Power Generation Technicians to support multiple Nebraska locations, including Kearney, Grand Island, Norfolk, Fremont, and Shenandoah. You will diagnose, maintain, and repair diesel and natural gas generators in the field, with travel to customer sites and focus on reliability and safety.

The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and strong customer relationships in a dynamic field-based environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience with industrial power generation sets.
• Experience with diesel and natural gas engines, electrical switchgear, and automatic transfer switches.
• Own set of general tools and ability to use diagnostic computers for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair all makers of generators.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs at customer sites with minimal supervision.
• Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify components of the generator, engine, and switchgear.
• Maintain positive interactions with service writers, foremen, parts department, and customers.
• Meet certification requirements and complete related paperwork.
