Job summary

Perdue Farms seeks a Blood Tester Technician within Poultry Health to support live operations by performing vaccinations, collecting and testing samples, and delivering essential supplies. You will monitor flock health and help ensure safety, biosecurity, and welfare standards across production programs.

The role requires attention to detail, independence, and the ability to document findings and follow SOPs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to analyze and resolve problems at a functional level.
• Knowledge of safety, biosecurity and food safety practices.
• Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Pick up vaccines and supplies as needed for daily activities and coordinate vaccine inventory and its usage.
• Properly handle, store, mix, administer and dispose of vaccines in prescribed manner.
• Assess management and health of flock before vaccination. Determine if vaccination is required now or later and record findings.
• Follow all prescribed SOPs for vaccines and related tasks (Blood Sample Collection, Vaccine Administration, Salmonella Swabbing, Water Sampling, Health Monitoring).
• Work independently with minimum supervision and maintain professional conduct and image for the company.
• Comply with safety, biosecurity, food safety, and poultry welfare programs and policies at all times.
• Operate company vehicle and equipment safely and in accordance with policies.
• Maintain a safe working environment and wear required PPE.
