Job summary

Aviagen in Oklahoma is seeking an outstanding individual to join the vaccination crew, handling day-old chicks, moves, and welfare care while upholding safety and bio-security.

You will perform duties such as blood collection, tagging, detergents/disinfectants handling, and working in poultry houses; occasional six-days weeks, holidays and weekends.

Qualifications

• Ability to understand oral and written instructions and perform simple tasks.
• Ability to perform repetitive work and stand for long periods.
• Ability to grip, grasp, or twist using hands and wrists.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Bend and stoop throughout the shift.
• Animal husbandry experience preferred but not required.
• Valid driver’s license is a must.
• Able to work in outdoor temperatures and in a noisy environment.
• Able to work well in teams.

• Must perform essential duties in a safe and efficient manner as trained
• Must be able to be around farm related smells or odors and loud/noisy environment
• May occasionally work up to 6 days a week, including some holidays, & weekends.

Job description

We are seeking an outstanding individual who will be responsible for vaccinations, bird moves, male selection, grading, cleaning, and disinfecting all equipment involved to ensure bio-security. All duties should be performed with safety, bio-security, and animal welfare being top priorities. This role plays a critical part in overall success of the farm operations within the vaccination crew. This crew has primary responsibilities for the animal care and welfare of the birds.
