Job summary
Gear 5 Automation is seeking a PLC Programmer/Controls Engineer for a Camden, AR project. The role is home-based with significant travel to customer sites, focusing on PLC programming, controls integration, commissioning, debugging, and startup as equipment goes into production.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Rockwell/Allen‑Bradley PLCs, Studio 5000, and FactoryTalk View HMIs, and be comfortable working with cross‑functional teams during dynamic site conditions.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of controls engineering or PLC programming experience.
- Hands-on Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Experience with Studio 5000 / RSLogix 5000.
- Experience with FactoryTalk View HMIs.
- Field commissioning and startup experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems for automated equipment.
- Program and troubleshoot Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs in Studio 5000.
- Develop HMI applications with FactoryTalk View.
- Support controls integration, startup, and production readiness.
- Diagnose electrical, software, networking, and controls issues.
- Travel approximately 75% and assist during commissioning.
