Job summary

Plains All American in Texas seeks a Pipeliner I to perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on pipeline assets with minimal supervision. This field-based role requires working outdoors in extreme temperatures and may involve callouts for emergency response.

You will assist in pipeline construction, maintenance, ILI tool work, and location/marking of pipelines while adhering to safety policies and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two (2) years of relevant work experience at the prior level.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to read and interpret pipeline maps, technical drawings, and technical schematics.
• Ability to work in a team-based work environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in power tool operation – i.e., compressors, power sprayers/tools.
• Must have basic computer skills: Excel, Microsoft Office, Word, etc.
• Must be familiar with PHMSA and OSHA regulations.
• Must have an outstanding safety record.
• Ability to successfully complete company Haz‑Mat training, required DOT operator qualifications to perform pipeline mechanical operations, and mandatory safety training.
• Ability to work in moderate to heavy physically demanding working conditions, including working outdoors in an open environment with extremes of heat and cold.

Responsibilities

• Performance of Pipeliner I responsibilities with minimal supervision.
• Maintains station, pipeline, and terminal facilities through routine upkeep.
• Performs duties related to pipeline construction and maintenance.
• Clears and maintains pipeline rights-of-way.
• Conducts repairs including ILI verification digs and pipeline change-outs.
• Assists in pipeline tank blindings.
• Installs and removes pipeline pigs regularly.
• Assists in ILI smart tool installation, tracking and extraction.
• Acts as relief for Pipeline or Terminal Operators as requested.
• Locates and marks pipelines and responds to one-call system.
• Cooperates with operations during DOT inspections.
• Follows Plains safety policies and procedures.
• Performs additional pipeline-related duties as assigned.
