Job summary

Acuren is seeking Pipeline Technicians for operations in Quinnesec, MI and surrounding areas. This local callout/travel role requires up to 50% travel across Michigan and surrounding areas, with approximately 90% spent in the field and 10% in the home division.

Relocation assistance is available for qualified applicants. Technicians will perform direct pipeline inspections, coating and corrosion assessments, and report writing, supporting integrity management programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college preferred.
• Technical background desired.
• Experience in pipeline integrity or maintenance roles.
• Current Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Thickness Level 2 required.
• Certifications: Creaform 3D scanning, Automated Corrosion Scan Mapping, Ultrasonic Phased Array/TOFD, In-situ Material Verification, or NACE CIP/CP I preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to procedures and specifications, including reports.
• Perform direct assessment of pipe condition and coatings.
• Examine pipe for cracks, corrosion, deformation, and manufacturing anomalies.
• Correlate pipe features to ILI logs and prepare inspection reports.
• Conduct fit-for-service evaluations per ASME B31.3 and RSTRENG.
• Ensure safe work practices and complete hazard assessments.
• Calibrate and set up NDE equipment and tools.
• Update pipelines integrity databases and FTP sites.
• Attend meetings with client engineers and project teams.
• Provide on-the-job training for PLI Assistants and Junior Technicians.
