Job summary

ERM is seeking a Principal Investigator to lead on-site cultural resource mitigation during construction for a transmission project in Northern Nevada and Southern Idaho. The PI will oversee teams, make real-time decisions, ensure regulatory compliance, and coordinate with managers, monitors, and subconsultants.

Responsibilities include documenting findings, managing field data, and maintaining safety and quality across field operations in rugged environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Archaeology or Anthropology preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years PI field experience in Great Basin.
• NV BLM PI statewide permit for Prehistoric and Historic.
• Experience with infrastructure project mitigation; familiarity with NHPA/BLM permits.
• Proficient with GPS and ArcGIS or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead mitigation per plan and site-specific procedures.
• Make live-time decisions to adjust plans.
• Maintain safety leadership.
• Document artifacts and assess NRHP eligibility in field.
• Coordinate with project managers and Native monitors.
• Ensure data quality and field notes.
• Support reporting to BLM and field forms.
