Job summary

County Courthouse seeks a Field Maintenance Worker to perform road maintenance, park upkeep, and equipment maintenance under supervision. Duties include flagging traffic, mowing, repairing facilities, and assisting in road construction projects.

Must be prepared for varied shifts and on-call requirements in a county setting. Minimum education is a high school diploma or GED with 1 year of maintenance experience; valid TX driver's license and background check are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from High School or GED or equivalent
• 1 year of experience in lawns, grounds and maintenance work
• Knowledge of gardening, trimming and cutting equipment and safety practices
• Ability to operate hand and power tools and maintenance equipment
• Must possess valid Texas driver’s license and pass background/drug screen
• On-call 24/7/365 and may require extra hours

Responsibilities

• Perform manual labor at construction sites
• Assist maintenance crew in road construction and repairs
• Direct traffic on road construction sites for safety via flagging
• Clean and maintain park areas, restrooms, and buildings
• Mow, trim, and maintain lawns and gardens; maintain equipment
• Paint and repair structures and equipment as needed
• Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry and masonry tasks
• May supervise community restitution workers
• Handle other duties as assigned
