Job summary

Milestone Treatment Center is seeking a dynamic Community Outreach Representative to expand our behavioral health network across Central and Western Virginia. This is a remote/field-based role requiring frequent in-person and virtual engagements with hospitals, providers, and community partners to drive referrals and program awareness.

You will build lasting relationships, present Milestone's services, manage a territory, and track activities using our CRM.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in business development, healthcare sales, or behavioral health marketing.
• Experience in substance use or behavioral health preferred.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven ability to develop professional relationships and generate referrals.
• Strong networking, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational and territory management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, field-based environment.
• CRM experience; Salesforce a plus.
• Proficient with Google Workspace and other business tools.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Build and grow a network of referral partners throughout your assigned territory.
• Conduct regular face‑to‑face meetings with hospitals, physicians, therapists, behavioral health providers, EAPs, employers, recovery organizations, and community agencies.
• Identify and pursue new referral and business‑development opportunities.
• Educate referral partners about Milestone's treatment programs, clinical services, and admissions process.
• Develop relationships that generate consistent, qualified referrals.
• Represent Milestone at networking events, conferences, health fairs, community functions, and professional events.
• Deliver presentations, lunch‑and‑learns, CEU programs, and educational events for professional organizations and referral partners.
• Maintain consistent contact with referral sources through in-person meetings, phone, email, and virtual communication.
• Partner closely with our Admissions team to ensure smooth referral handoffs and excellent communication.
• Manage your territory strategically by identifying high‑value relationships, opportunities, and areas for growth.
• Track meetings, activities, referrals, and opportunities within the company CRM.
• Monitor territory performance, referral trends, and competitive activity.
• Represent Milestone with professionalism, credibility, and integrity throughout the community.
