Job description

This position has to lead technicians in restoring, maintaining, and installing fiber optic networks for the telecommunication industry we are part of. Must be focused on rapid response to outages and ensuring quality control on the field to our network when necessary. For this you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Ensure quality control
  • Manage employee schedules
  • Enforcement of safety and OSHA protocols
  • Be available for emergency situations by phone and physically
  • Bridging field teams to be able to fill gaps for workflow
  • Strong leadership and follow up on disciplinary issues with management and HR
  • Technical expertise in diagnostics and splicing of optic fiber
  • Analyze trouble tickets
  • Train staff
  • Coordinate with NOC and Level 3 Specialists
  • Maintain network performance for residential and commercial services
  • Able to work in varied environments: field, office, different sites
Key tasks
  1. Leadership and team management—Help recruit/select, train, coach, and evaluate field technicians. Help maintain the company’s rules and politics to create a knowledgeable environment.
  2. Outage Restoration—Supervise and assign routine repairs, coordinate work for emergencies and coordinate responses with the NOC department. Must use tools such as OTDRs, power meters, etc. Work with contractors when needed to repair, maintain, develop and preserve field infrastructure.
  3. Field Operations—Manage daily schedule and prepare payroll timecards. Create service orders, splicing, installations and preventive maintenance for OSP and ISP networks.
  4. Safety and quality—Conduct site inspections, ensure adherence to standards and require strict safety protocols. Knowledge of OSHA safety procedures is necessary.
  5. Technical oversight—Interpret prints, manage network equipment, perform advance troubleshooting and confirm network functionality. Must report and serve as liaison between technicians’ level II, management, and customers.

Educational Requirements
  • Experience: Proven leadership, fiber splicing, network maintenance, and project management experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of fiber optics, splicing techniques, network architecture and diagnostic tools.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication, organization, and attention to detail. Be ready to create work documentation for the job and supervise employees
  • Physical/Work Environment: Ability to work outdoors in various conditions, at heights, in confined spaces, and potentially presence call for emergencies.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in electricity, engineering, networking or related. Certifications are a plus.
Salary range

$45,000 to $50,000 (Based on your experience).

Weekly 05 days. Sunday To Thursday. 09 AM to 06 PM . (Launch Break 01 Hour)
