Job summary

Liberty Puerto Rico is seeking an OSP Technician to perform specialized duties in the repair, maintenance, and installation of the company’s fiber optic network. You will install RF components, test antennas, manage cables, and ensure safe tower construction and punctual project execution.

You will work with cell tower infrastructure, perform fault diagnosis, document fiber layouts per FCC standards, and support 24/7 outages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of RAN and fiber network experience.

Responsibilities

• Install RF components and grounding arrestors on towers, and perform sweep tests and PIM tests on antennas.
• Manage cables such as Coax Fiber and Cat5e from tower bunkers to sectors and route main power to top tower and set up all sectors and antennas to tower.
• Cover all aspects of cell tower construction, antenna and line installation, QA inspections, and GPS installation.
• Complete basic to complex installation of Ethernet or Fiber based internet in residential and commercial environments from the tap to the CPE, including wiring of interior and exterior equipment.
• Respond to equipment failures on the network, troubleshoot and repair equipment while communicating with customers about the repair process.
• Adhere to OSHA and NATE standards and safety.
• Perform ground construction activities such as digging trenches, grounding, cad welding, terminations, fastening and antioxidant use.
• Distribute, pick up and organize tools and materials and operate construction equipment.
• Perform work efficiently while observing safety and quality guidelines and maintaining assets.
• Prepare documentation for fiber splicing, cores, enclosures, and optical cable layouts as per FCC standards.
• Available to assist in system outages on a 24/7 schedule.
• Demonstrate compliance with Customer First Philosophy and company safety standards.
• Other functions may be assigned.
