J. Benton Construction, LLC is seeking a Construction Field Operations Intern (Co-op) for Spring 2027 in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

You will gain hands-on experience supporting active construction projects, working with Superintendents and project teams, and developing real-world skills in field coordination and project documentation. The role emphasizes exposure to safety, daily reporting, schedule coordination, and hands-on project execution, with housing and transportation support provided by

• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong preference for Civil Engineering or construction-related disciplines.
• Demonstrated interest in construction management and the industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong initiative and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective time-management with deadlines and multiple tasks.
• Previous internship experience in construction preferred.
• Previous work experience in U.S. construction industry preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Assist in administering the project safety program to maintain a safe work environment.
• Provide technical assistance interpreting drawings, specs, and submittals.
• Support field operations with daily/weekly tasks and reporting.
• Develop understanding of project schedule and critical path activities.
• Review and support development of short-term work plans.
• Participate in the project quality program with inspections and meetings.
