Job summary

Eagle River Water and Sanitation District is seeking a Field Operator to join the Field Operations team. This role involves outdoor work on water distribution and wastewater collection systems, with a mix of field and administrative tasks.

The position emphasizes mechanical skills, safety, and teamwork as you support repairs, maintenance, and inspections across district infrastructure, with opportunities for training and certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Colorado licenses preferred; must obtain Colorado Distribution I and Collection I within one year of start date.
• Valid Colorado Driver's license and be insurable; must obtain class B CDL within two years.

Responsibilities

• Perform repairs and maintenance on water distribution and wastewater systems using hand tools and heavy equipment.
• Operate and inspect equipment (backhoes, dump trucks, jetting trucks) to maintain infrastructure safely.
• Create and complete work orders; update asset data in CityWorks for accurate records.
• Support fire hydrant flow tests and other system performance assessments.
• Access and reference documents to communicate work clearly and professionally.
• Collaborate with colleagues and the public while upholding the District's values.
