Job summary

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Warehouse Manager for our Pittsburgh, PA operations. This is a hands-on role focused on managing the dedicated warehouse facility, keeping equipment and materials organized and ready to support field teams.

The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day warehouse operations, optimize workflows, supervise staff, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely field support and project readiness.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in warehouse operations, field support, or a related role.
• Ability to work independently and respond quickly to operational needs
• Effective communication skills with a service‑oriented mindset
• Strong mechanical aptitude with tools and equipment
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Forklift experience and certification preferred
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep working knowledge of field practices, equipment, and project requirements
• Serve as a reliable, go‑to resource for field staff, providing timely support and practical solutions
• Anticipate field needs and provide crews with the right tools, materials, and equipment
• Apply strong mechanical aptitude to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with tools, equipment, and vehicles
• Respond quickly to field challenges to minimize downtime and maintain productivity
• Maintain and service field equipment to maintain reliability and extend longevity
• Coordinate specialized repairs with external vendors when required
• Negotiate with vendors
• Build strong, trust‑based relationships with field personnel
• Independently oversee day‑to‑day operations at our dedicated warehouse facility
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, safety, and operational readiness
• Keep materials and equipment properly stored, labeled, and accessible
