Job summary

Allan Myers is seeking a Field Operations Trainee (SkillBridge) to learn the heavy civil construction industry and prepare for a Field Manager role within 1-2 years.

The Trainee will support the Crew Leader, conduct safety huddles, manage materials and equipment, and participate in on-the-job training aimed at developing leadership and site-management skills. This program is for transitioning military service members under the SkillBridge program.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience managing a team of employees with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience in heavy/civil construction preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of heavy equipment and general construction preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of safety practices within a construction environment preferred but not required.
• Known for taking action, building consensus, being influential, and making purposeful decisions.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to frequently lift heavy objects over 60lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assists Crew Leader in managing the crew and day-to-day site operations.
• Conducts morning safety huddles and communicates with the team.
• Maintains materials usage documentation and equipment notes.
• Provides initial and ongoing training for new hires and team members.
• Reports incidents and concerns to leadership and coordinates with stakeholders.
