Job summary

West Networks is seeking a Field Operations Technician, Tier 1, to install and service private 5G radios and edge equipment across the upper Midwest. You will perform on-site installations, cable runs, and post-deployment testing at customer sites.

This role requires comfort outdoors, physical work, and regional travel with on-call rotation. A valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, and willingness to learn are essential; a career path from Tier 1 to Tier 2 is provided.

Qualifications

• Willing to travel regionally and take on-call rotation.

Responsibilities

• Install, align, and service 5G radios, antennas, and edge equipment.
• Router and gateway installs, swaps, and cutovers at customer sites.
• Retail kit installs and next-business-day on-site deployments.
• Cable pulls, terminations, mounting, weatherproofing, and grounding.
• Site surveys, photo documentation, and as-built records.
• Tier 0 NOC monitoring: watch dashboards, triage alerts, elevate correctly, and clear what you can remotely.
• On-call rotation covering both NOC and field dispatch.
• Keep your truck, tools, and inventory in order.

Field Operations Technician, Tier 1

Location: Milwaukee, WI (field-based, regional travel) Type: Full-time Pay: $55,000/year Reports to: Field Operations Manager

West Networks is the largest Peplink integrator in the world. We build and support mission-critical connectivity for healthcare, broadcast, construction, maritime, retail, and manufacturing. Our customers include names you already know, and when their network goes down, their business stops. That is the standard we work to.

We are building out our Field Operations division and adding a Tier 1 Technician in Milwaukee to cover private 5G radio work and regional on-site service.

What you'll do

Most of your day is hands-on with our private 5G radio network: installing, aligning, and servicing radios and antennas, running cable, terminating, testing, and documenting. The rest is regional field service for our customers across the upper Midwest.

• Router and gateway installs, swaps, and cutovers at customer sites
• Retail kit installs and next-business-day on-site deployments
• Cable pulls, terminations, mounting, weatherproofing, and grounding
• Site surveys, photo documentation, and as-built records
• Tier 0 NOC monitoring: watch dashboards, triage alerts, elevate correctly, and clear what you can remotely
• On-call rotation covering both NOC and field dispatch

What we're looking for

Required

• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record

• Comfortable working at height from boom and scissor lifts
• Able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet all day
• Reliable, on time, and able to represent us professionally on a customer site
• Willing to travel regionally and take on-call rotation
• Pass a background check and drug screen

Nice to have, not required

• Prior low-voltage, cabling, tower, cellular, or electrical work
• General IP networking exposure
• OSHA 30 or lift certifications already in hand
• Fiber termination or splicing
