Marin Humane is hiring a Field Operations Supervisor to support and lead our growing Animal Services team. This position is one of two operational leads for the department, responsible for overseeing a team of officers and technicians, coordinating day-to-day field response, and helping guide the department through a critical period of evolution and growth.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is a hands-on supervisory role focused on both people and field operations. You’ll work closely with your fellow Field Operations Supervisor and the Director of Animal Services to keep the department running efficiently and compassionately.

• Supervise and support Animal Services Officers (ASO I & II) and Field Technicians
• Manage daily operations: field coverage, beat assignments, case prioritization, timesheets, and scheduling
• Respond to complex or high-priority field calls and provide coverage when staff are out
• Help with animal-related investigations for cases of animal cruelty and liaison with other organizations in Marin for cases
• Lead onboarding, training, and mentorship of new field staff
• Provide performance feedback, coaching, and support for professional growth
• Participate in strategic planning, policy updates, and departmental meetings
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and empathy across the team
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless service delivery and communication

Minimum Qualifications

• Two (2) years of experience as an Animal Services Officer or Humane Law Enforcement Officer (required)
• Two (2) years of supervisory or leadership experience in animal services or a related field (may overlap)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to complete the following if not already certified:
• PC 832 (within 6-12 months of hire)
• Basic CA Animal Law Enforcement Academy (within 1 year)
• Advanced Academy, Euthanasia Certification, ICS/NIMS (within 2 years or as available)

Preferred Qualifications

• Spanish fluency (eligible for $1.00/hour bilingual differential)
• Familiarity with Marin County geography and community demographics
• Background in cruelty investigations, animal rescue, or field response coordination

Compensation & Benefits

• $40.98–$45.54/hour (based on experience)
• $5,000 hiring bonus
• $1.00/hour Spanish speaking bilingual pay differential

Schedule & Work Environment

• 40 hours per week, four 10-hour shifts (including weekends and holidays)
• Combination of field and office work (50/50)
• Must be comfortable with physically demanding work, emotionally difficult cases, and responding to emergencies
• Standby shift and shift coverage responsibilities required
