Job Description:
Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Field Operations Supervisor at our Montgomery County Grinding Operations facility located in Derwood, MD. This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing the daily operations of the facility.
Responsibilities:
- Providing on-site supervision of the grinding operation while operating heavy equipment, including wheel loaders, excavators, and horizontal grinders, to process brush and yard waste materials.
- Overseeing production operations, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, maintaining operational records, and reporting production activities and site conditions to site management.
- Note: Persons appointed to this position will be required to attend supervisory training within 6 months of appointment, or the earliest available training if training is not offered within 6 months. Complete OSHA 10 hr. General Industry Training Class.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Experience with all facility equipment including site specific, specialized machinery.
- The ability to read and execute plans and interpret construction specifications.
- Demonstrate sound leadership and communication skills.
- Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points.
Estimated Pay Range:
$63,816.48 - $87,753.12

Minimum Requirements:
- Graduation from a standard high school or GED plus one year of supervisory experience in field operations, recycling/solid waste or construction activities and six years prior experience operating heavy equipment.
- Graduation from a standard high school or GED plus six years of progressively responsible experience operating multiple types of heavy equipment applicable to the hiring facility. This experience must include a lead role in field operations, recycling/solid waste or construction activities.
