Job summary

Kinder Morgan, Inc. seeks an Operations Specialist at Station 204, NGPL Columbus Junction, IA, to operate and maintain pipelines, compressors and related equipment. The role requires 12‑hour shifts beginning at 6 am or 6 pm, with on‑call nights and weekends and potential seasonal shift work during gas withdrawal.

Strong mechanical background or pipeline/industrial maintenance experience is essential. The position includes safety responsibilities, documentation, and interaction with landowners

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office) and operating systems.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Knowledge of operating costs and best practices for area equipment.

Responsibilities

• Start, stop and operate engines/pumps within defined parameters.
• Ensure cost effective performance of engines, pumps and equipment.
• Perform minor electrical maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair engines, turbines, pumps, valves and instruments.
• Install and maintain valves, pipe, and storage well equipment.
• Maintain facilities and equipment including pipelines and compressor stations.
• Record documentation and compliance with standards.
• Train and oversee personnel and contractors as needed.
• Participate in safety programs and site procedures.
• Complete all work in accordance with company tariffs and standards.
