Job summary

NexTier is seeking a Pumpdown Manager to oversee completions operations at the wellsite in Texas. You will supervise personnel, direct field crews and equipment, and ensure safe, compliant service delivery to meet client objectives and logistics.

Candidates should have 5+ years of frac experience, a GED/HS diploma, and strong communication, organization, and leadership skills. The role requires on-site work with flexible hours and travel as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee pumpdown operations at the wellsite and ensure service delivery.
  • Coordinate with customer on site to plan activities.
  • Direct field crews and equipment to meet objectives and logistics.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with operations.
  • Manage changes to job program at the location as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies.
  • Supervise personnel and verify competency to operate equipment.
  • Intervene in unsafe acts and halt operations if required to protect safety.
  • Ensure proper staffing and timely arrival of equipment and materials.
  • Provide leadership, training, and documentation of crew/equipment info.
  • Hold pre-job meetings with personnel, client, and third parties; implement contingency plans.
  • Provide technical and operational guidance to customer and crew; recover equipment post-job.
  • Assess performance of direct reports and implement development or disciplinary actions.
  • Comply with government, industry, and company regulations to maintain safe operations.

Job description

The Pumpdown Manager uses independent judgment to manage the the completions operation, including the mobilization plan, equipment preparation, service execution, and personnel supervision. This position is accountable for HSE of the entire NexTier operation at the wellsite. This position will oversee personnel and equipment while ensuring safe and efficient service delivery in accordance with company policies, standards, and procedures. This position will be required to display a professional image and represent NexTier to all existing and potential customers.

Key Accountabilities
  • Manages Pumpdown operations at the wellsite and is accountable for their exceptional Service Delivery.
  • Meets regularly with customer on wellsite to coordinate job-related activities.
  • Directs field crews and equipment to carry out contracted services and accomplish company/client objectives and logistics.
  • Recognizes risks associated with the operation, and reduces these risks to as low as reasonably possible.
  • Identifies any potential unplanned changes to the job program at location, and takes the necessary actions to manage the change.
  • Ensures that all employees and contractors at the work site are in compliance with safety standards and other, relevant standards.
  • Manages all personnel to ensure they are competent to drive and/or operate their assigned equipment.
  • Intervenes unsafe acts and violations of safety practices, including but not limited to stopping or suspending operations as considered appropriate to ensure HSE standards and operational procedures are met according to company\'s policies and relevant state and federal regulations
  • Ensures that the correct people are available, trained and understand their responsibilities in the completions operation; proper equipment and materials arrive on time on location, and are rigged up, tested and ready to perform the job, as requested by client, with no deviations from standard operations.
  • Provides supervision, direction, training and on-going leadership; documents and reports all pertinent crew, equipment and job-related information
  • Ensures pre-job meetings are held with personnel, client and third-party personnel and ensures contingency plans in place prior to the start of the job
  • Provides technical and operational knowledge along with leadership during the operation to both the customer and crew, and safely remove all equipment from location after the operation is completed
  • Ensures that crews are performing their assigned duties correctly, safely and in accordance with Standards.
  • Responsible for assessing the performance of all direct reports, providing prompt feedback and implementing development plans and/or disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Comply with all government, industry and company regulations and standards to ensure a healthy and safe work environment, as well as, reduce environmental impact.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Detail-oriented and strong communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle a dynamic work environment within defined deadlines.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work with consistent follow-through.
  • Maintain a valid driver license and the ability to operate a vehicle for NexTier.
  • Ability to work flexible work schedule, including long and/or irregular hours
  • PC literacy and experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and multi-task
  • Ability to work closely with fellow employees in a team environment
  • Ability to think and act quickly
  • Self-starting, independent with an ability to work in remote locations without day-to-day supervision

Minimum Requirements
  • G.E.D. or H.S. Diploma - Required
  • 5+ years of Frac experience.
