Job summary

Qualifications

Education must include 30 semester hours in natural resource/agriculture fields with 12+ hours in soils/crops or plant science; at least 3 hours in soils and 3 in crops.
Specialized Experience: GS-12 requires 1 year at GS-11 level or equivalent in soil/water conservation and related sciences.
Experience includes planning, guidance, and communication on natural resource programs; education cannot substitute for GS-12 level.

Responsibilities

Analyze workloads and develop annual work plans within funding and staffing constraints.
Provide technical guidance on soil interpretations, erosion control, water quality, and habitat management.
Prepare complex conservation or resource plans and assist with implementation.
Communicate technical information to landowners and managers to resolve conservation issues.
Manage natural resources programs requiring initiative and resourcefulness.
