Nextlink is seeking a Construction Fiber Lead in Texas to supervise field crews in OSP fiber construction, maintenance, and restoration. You will coordinate outages, perform splicing, OTDR testing, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

You'll read blueprints, guide teams, and document work orders, hours, and map updates while collaborating with NOC and engineering to keep services running for customers across multiple regions.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience with fiber tools.
• Demonstrated supervisory or lead experience in OSP fiber construction, maintenance, and emergency restoration preferred.
• Working knowledge of fiber splicing, OTDR interpretation, optical loss testing, PON/GPON systems, construction prints, and aerial/underground plant practices required.
• Experience leading safety briefings, coaching crews, coordinating contractors, and managing field incident response strongly preferred.

• Plan and supervise installation, maintenance, and restoration of backbone, feeder, and access fiber networks.
• Coordinate planned maintenance windows and controlled outages with the NOC and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate work orders, splice records, and as-built drawings.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA and safety policies.
• Prepare and submit post-incident reviews with corrective actions.
