Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to coordinate and supervise subcontractors and craft team members within a specific construction discipline. The role involves managing project labor, safety meetings, timecard approvals, and collaboration with Project Managers on schedules and field operations.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, at least 3 years of construction management experience, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 3 years construction management or related experience.
• Current driver's license.
• Experience with craft labor management and safety processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise sub-contractors and craft teams within a given discipline.
• Manage project labor and communicate weekly labor issues.
• Review certifications and trainings for craft roles.
• Oversee site orientation and safety meetings.
• Coordinate timecard review and approval for craft workers.
• Participate in hiring and dismissal of craft workers.
• Coordinate on-site operations, equipment, labor, and schedule.
• Support project managers with schedule development and updates.
• Coordinate with equipment providers for project equipment.
• Review quantity takeoffs and materials during buyout.
• Manage Plan of Day (POD) activities and Production/Innovation Boards.
• Assist Safety Manager with site audits and observations.
• Ensure quality control for self-perform and subcontractors.
