Job summary

Glass Roots Construction (GRC) seeks a Construction Manager to lead underground fiber optic projects from inception to completion in Uvalde, TX. Youll drive profitability, manage client relationships, and ensure operational excellence while mentoring field teams in a safety-first culture.

You will report to the Director of Operations and collaborate with diverse teams to meet project goals on time and within budget, with a day shift and potential night rotations.

Qualifications

• Must have at least 3 years’ experience working with and around directional drilling crews in the utility construction industry.
• Proven supervisory experience is required.
• Ability to work constructively with Environmental Monitors, DOT/OSHA, Municipalities, and other stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of utility construction practices and terminology; read, interpret, and adjust drawings/prints.
• Direct experience with utility locating systems.
• Strong computer skills and experience in data management.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day construction activities of a fiber optic utility network.
• Work with the Market Manager to ensure safe and quality construction practices by internal and subcontract crews.
• In the field alongside crews 100% of the day.
• Verify construction progress as work is completed using a utility locator for depth and offsets.
• Collect pictures, bore logs, and data to support customer Quality Control requirements.
• Learn and apply quality metrics to ensure finished work meets specs.
• Willingness to work night shifts on a rotation basis.
