Job summary

Glass Roots Construction (GRC) is seeking a Construction Manager to lead underground fiber optic utility projects from inception to completion. You will drive project profitability, manage client relations, and mentor field teams in a safety- and efficiency-focused culture in Uvalde, Texas.

The role requires 3+ years in directional drilling with utilities, strong supervision, and field-based leadership. You will work closely with the Director of Operations and may rotate to night shifts as

Qualifications

3+ years experience in directional drilling/utility construction.
Proven supervisory experience.
Ability to coordinate with Environmental Monitors, DOT/OSHA, municipalities.
Strong ability to read, interpret, and adjust construction drawings/prints.
Direct experience with utility locating systems.
Strong computer skills and data management.

Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day construction activities of a fiber optic utility network.
Ensure safe and quality construction practices with internal and subcontract crews.
Field engagement: work with crews 100% of the day.
Verify construction progress using a utility locator to identify depth and offsets.
Collect photos, bore logs, and data for customer QC requirements.
Apply quality metrics to meet customer, municipality, and environmental specs.
Willingness to work night shifts on a rotation basis.
