Job summary

Our Underground District at Kiewit seeks a Field/Office Engineer to support field and office operations, including surveying, takeoffs, and cost data entry. You will aid in safety, scheduling, and coordination across field crews and subcontractors in a dynamic tunneling environment.

The role emphasizes interpretation of drawings, prepare work plans, and daily reporting, with opportunities for travel to various sites and exposure to major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpretation of drawings and specifications for field crews and craft supervision.
• Perform quantity calculations by taking measurements and determining percentage of work completed/installed.
• Assist in preparing work plans and work packages.
• Assist in field surveying and layout support including elevation and control points.
• Assist in compiling daily labor timesheets.
• Assist in preparing Job Hazard Analyses (JHA’s).
• Assist in providing solutions related to underground tunneling and construction operations.
• Participate in jobsite safety reviews and toolbox meetings.
• Order and schedule material deliveries.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate work groups on the jobsite.
• Supervise field operations.
• Perform material takeoffs and basic engineering calculations to support field operations.
• Assist engineers to gather data for submittals and transmittals.
• Participate in preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts; perform minor solicitations.
