Job summary

Kiewit is offering a Summer 2027 Engineer Intern program in its Eastern District, Field Operations. You will gain hands-on experience in field engineering, planning, cost control, and project scheduling for heavy civil projects as part of a structured internship.

Interns work on transportation, bridges, tunnels, and energy-related projects, with relocation opportunities as needed to meet project needs. This is a full-time temporary internship designed to develop future engineers at Kiewit.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related.
• Willingness to travel or relocate for project assignments.
• Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety.

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration and supervision.
• Perform engineering tasks using standard techniques and address minor technical problems on site.
• Maintain progress records including costs and material usage.
• Plan and schedule job segments and coordinate with suppliers to expedite materials.
