Job summary

Agency for Health Care Administration is seeking a Registered Nurse Specialist to conduct inspections of health care facilities, ensuring compliance with state licensure and federal Medicare/Medicaid requirements. The role involves documenting findings and writing survey reports, with potential to work solo, in teams, or as a team leader.

The incumbent must complete the mandatory Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within the first year and be prepared to travel as needed, including emergency

Qualifications

• Licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in Florida and two years of professional nursing experience.
• Preference given to candidates with a bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Knowledge of nursing principles, practices and techniques; licensure and survey requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections using an established survey process.
• Evaluate health care facilities for licensure and federal certification.
• Document findings and complete written survey reports.
• May work as an individual, team member or team leader.
• Complete the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test within 12 months.
