Overview

Position Summary: Provides medical management to workers' compensation injured employees, performing case management through telephonic and in-person contact with injured workers and medical providers. Coordinates with employers and claims professionals to manage medical care in order to return injured employees to work. This position covers the Columbus, OH area with a travel radius of up to 2 hours.

How you'll make an impact

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate medical evaluation and treatment
• Meet with physicians and injured workers to collaborate on treatment plans and discuss return-to-work goals
• Update employers and referral sources regarding medical treatment and work status
• Coordinate ancillary services, e.g., home health, durable medical equipment, and physical therapy; communicate with employers about job requirements and explore modified or alternate employment options
• Discuss and evaluate treatment results with physicians and injured workers using Evidence-Based Guidelines to ensure effective outcomes
• Document case management observations, assessments, and plans
• Generate reports for referral sources to communicate case status and recommendations
• Maintain ongoing correspondence with involved parties in the injured worker's treatment plan
• Participate in telephonic case conferences as needed
• Maintain a caseload of at least 35 files and 150 billable hours monthly, with a minimum of 95% quality compliance

About You

Required:

• Nursing or medical degree from an accredited institution with an active Registered Nursing license or medical license within the state of practice
• 2-4 years of relevant work experience
• Completion of required training to maintain proficiency and licensing
• Ability to travel within a 2-hour radius for appointments
• Intermediate to advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, etc.)
• WCCM certification

Desired:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Experience in workers' compensation preferred
• Related field certification preferred
• 1-3 years of clinical experience preferred
• Knowledge of managed care practices, including use of criteria, guidelines, and standards
• Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Self-directed with proactive case management skills
• Excellent time management skills
