Job summary

Lumen Technologies, serving the Memphis market, seeks an Enterprise Field Technician I to install and maintain telecommunications network services. This hands-on field position develops technical expertise through training while collaborating with experienced technicians.

Key responsibilities include troubleshooting, testing NG technologies, and providing customer-facing support on a rotating on-call schedule in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or up to 2 years of relevant job experience including 1+ years network monitoring, installation, or maintenance/repair.
• Ability to learn technical concepts, processes, and troubleshooting through structured training.
• On-call 24x7 on a rotational basis, on stand-by, dispatch, and overtime are required as dictated by the business.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots network equipment, replaces defective gear and isolates issues to restore service.
• Assists in installation, change, decommissioning and testing of NG technologies (Edge Compute, Wavelength, Fiber, Ethernet, IP).
• Install, activate, and maintain telecommunications network services and equipment.
• Perform diagnostics, repair activities, and respond to outages with restoration efforts.
• Travel to customer sites for scheduled and emergency field work.
• Deliver professional, customer-facing support and collaborate with teammates on-call coverage.
