Job summary

Vision Net, Montana’s largest state-wide network and premier data center provider, is seeking a skilled Network Technician in Great Falls to install, maintain, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems and network infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with fiber optics, routers, switches, and structured cabling, plus 3–5 years of telecom or network support experience and relevant certifications. Full-time, non-exempt role with on-site work and occasional travel.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical certification in Telecommunications, Networking, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• 3-5 years of experience in telecommunications or network support.
• Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Palo Alto Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)/Administrator (PCNSA), or BICSI.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain routers, switches, modems, and structured cabling.
• Perform diagnostics and repairs on network hardware and software issues.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on network infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to support network upgrades and expansions.
• Document network configurations, maintenance activities, and service reports.
• Respond to service tickets and troubleshoot connectivity issues in a timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations.
• Assist in planning and implementing network security measures.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users as needed.
• Work in a safe and effective manner.
• Maintain confidentiality of company information and records when required.
• Travel to remote locations for work with scheduled and non-scheduled notice.
• Work independently and within a team.
• Hold a valid Montana driver’s license, and safe driving record.
