Job summary

Bonneville Contracting & Technology Group is seeking a Network Technician to support installation, configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of telecommunications and network infrastructure across the U.S. Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico.

Travel between project locations is required as needed, with responsibilities spanning cabling, wiring, and network equipment installation. The role emphasizes hands-on field work in commercial, industrial, and critical-infrastructure

Qualifications

• Proficient in Ethernet networks, TCP/IP, switching and wireless networking.
• Experience using common network and cable testing equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical problems methodically and document findings.
• Comfort working in construction environments, telecom rooms, outdoor locations, and active facilities.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, troubleshoot, and maintain Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber cabling.
• Install and configure network equipment (switches, routers, APs, firewalls, racks, patch panels).
• Perform fiber termination, splicing, testing, and documentation when qualified.
• Conduct copper and fiber certification testing with appropriate equipment.
• Assist with IP addressing, VLANs, switching, wireless networks, and basic routing.
• Diagnose network connectivity and hardware issues.
• Install telecom racks, cabinets, and cable management.
• Read construction drawings and network diagrams; document testing results and configurations.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, customers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
• Follow safety requirements and project procedures.
