Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. (GDIT) is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support US BICES‑X operations.

The role involves identifying and resolving network incidents, configuring routing and switching, and maintaining secure, standards‑driven networks for mission critical environments. You will work in a fast‑paced, collaborative setting with end users, vendors, and security personnel to ensure 24/7 availability and compliance with DoD requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering or operations.
• Must possess and maintain a Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
• BA/BS degree – may be substituted for additional years of experience.
• Active CCNA certification required.
• Must meet DoD 8750 requirements and be eligible for IAT level II access; ITIL V4 Foundation within six months of hire.
• Knowledge of routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, STP).
• Experience with Cisco IOS software and hardware features.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment and coordinate with vendors.

Responsibilities

• Identifies, analyzes, and resolves network incidents and problems.
• Provides network training and technical guidance to end-users and staff.
• Determines network specifications and parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
• Maintains voice, video, and data networks to meet SLAs and security requirements.
• Interfaces with vendors to resolve outages and performance issues.
• Supports development of network-related procedures and standards.
• Ensures network security and compliance with policies.
